WHEN AND WHERE IS HELD THE TotalEnergies MEDIO MARATÓN DE MÁLAGA 2023?

The TotalEnergies Medio Maratón de Málaga 2024 will be held in Málaga City on 10 March 2024 at 8.15 am. The Start and the Finish Line of the race will be in Avenida Manuel Alvar, near Stadium Ciudad de Málaga.

IS THERE ANY TIME LIMITATION TO COMPLETE THE RACE?

Yes. The maximum time to complete the marathon is 3 hours, so the finishing line will be closed at 11.15.

WHAT IS THE REGISTRATION PERIOD?

Registration will open on Monday, October 30th 2023, running until Tuesday, March 5th 2024, or until the 5,500 available places have been filled.

WHAT ARE THE CATEGORIES?

  • Absolute M / F. Includes everyone, except participants with a wheelchair
  • Junior M / F: Born in 2005 and 2006 (of legal age on the day of the race
  • Promise M / F: Born between 2002 and 2004
  • Senior M / F: Born from 2001 to Veteran (35 years)
  • Master M 35 / F 35: From 35 to 39 years old
  • Master M 40 / F 40: From 40 to 44 years old
  • Master M 45 / F 45: From 45 to 49 years old
  • Master M 50 / F 50: From 50 to 54 years old
  • Master M 55 / F 55: From 55 to 59 years old
  • Master M 60 / F 60: From 60 to 64 years old
  • Master M 65 / F 65: From 65 to 69 years old

WHERE AND WHEN ARE THE BIBS AND THE GOODY BAGS TO BE COLLECTED?

Bibs and goody bags will only be handed out in the Expo Half Marathon of TotalEnergies Medio Maratón de Málaga, in the Estadio Ciudad de Málaga on Friday 8 and Saturday 9 March 2024, between 10:00 and 20:00 (uninterrupted). Access is free for runners and accompanying persons.

WHAT DO I NEED TO COLLECT THE BIB AND THE GOODY BAG?

To collect their bibs, runners will have to show their registration receipt/copy of the registration and their Identity Card/Passport or other document that identifies them. To collect a runner's goody bag, the runner must show his or her bib.

If a runner cannot collect his or her bib, it may be collected by another person provided that they have the registration receipt or a copy of the registration and a photocopy of the runner's Identity Card and an authorisation signed by that runner.

No bibs or goody bags will be handed out on the day of the race.

WHAT DOES A RUNNER'S GOODY BAG CONTAIN?

A runner's goody bag contains the luanvi TotalEnergies Medio Maratón de Málaga 's official-shirt, bib number, sticker for the for the baggage/cloakroom service and several promotional gifts of the Marathon sponsors.

WHAT KIND OF CHIP IS USED AND WHEN IS IT DELIVERED?

The chip of the 33rd TotalEnergies Medio Maratón de Málaga will be a bib-chip, i.e. the bib comes with the chip already placed on its back. The chip must not be returned at the end of the race.

IS IT MANDATORY TO FILL IN ALL THE DATA ON THE BACK OF THE BIB?

Yes. In the event of a medical emergency, such data will facilitate rapid and efficient action in case of allergies, illnesses or to promptly warn a family member or someone you know.

IS THERE BAGGAGE/CLOAKROOM SERVICE AVAILABLE?

Yes. The Organisation will provide a baggage/cloakroom service. It will be located in the Stadium Ciudad de Málaga. The cloakroom will be open from 6:45 h. to 11:45 h.

ARE THERE WCs? WHERE WILL THEY BE LOCATED?

Yes. The Organisation will make available portable toilets. They will be located in the start and finish areas and at the refreshment points  along the course (Kilometres 5,1-10,1-13-15,8 y 18,4).

WHERE WILL THE ENERGY STATIONS BE LOCATED?

There will be 5 energy stations with water, isotonic drinks and gels at the following points on the course:

  • KM 5,1: Located on both sides of the road. Water. There will be portable toilets.
  • KM 10,1: Located on right side of the road. Water. There will be portable toilets.
  • KM 13: Located on right side of the road. Water. There will be portable toilets.
  • KM 15,8: Located on right side of the road. Water and isotonic drinks served in glasses. There will be portable toilets.
  • KM 18,4: Located on right side of the road. Water and isotonic drinks served in glasses. There will be portable toilets.
  • FINISHING LINE: Water, isotonic drinks and solid food. There will be a first aid station and toilets.

Important:

  • The food and hydration stations will be sized to handle the Half Marathon runners. Drinks/food will be set out on large numbers of tables. Runners are asked not to take the drinks/food from the first few tables in order to prevent a jam in the area.

SHOULD I READ THE RACE RULES?

Yes. All participants must know and comply with the rules of the marathon. Ignorance of the rules does not exempt runners from compliance.

COULD SOMEONE ACCOMPANY ME ON A BIKE DURING THE RACE?

NO. It is completely prohibited to follow the runners on a motorbike or a bike and the Local Police has express requirement to take off the course any person who does not comply with this rule, in order to avoid any accident involving the runners, the spectators or the organization members.

ARE THERE STARTING BOXES?

Yes. There will be starting boxes for ELITE times, sub 1.30h, sub 1.45h, sub 2h, and over 2h. In order to access the starting boxes, runners must communicate to the Organization at the time of registering the box he or she wants to opt to and his or her personal time accreditation, that must be equal or less to the time of the box he or she wants to opt to (only times achieved in the last 2 years in approved Half Marathon and 10 Kilometres races will be valid).

ARE 10 KILOMETRES TIME ACCREDITATIONS ALSO VALID TO ACCREDITATE TIMES AND ACCESS THE EXISTING STARTING BOXES?

Yes, 10 Kilometres times achieved in the last 2 years in approved races will be valid. The equivalences would be sub 33' (élite), sub 41’ (sub 1h30’), sub 47’ (sub 1h45’) y sub 54’ (sub 2h).

ARE THERE PACEMAKERS?

Yes. The Málaga Half Marathon will have properly identified pacemakers for each of the following times: 1h25’, 1h30’, 1h40’, 1h50’ and 2h00’. They will be at the front of the corresponding boxes depending the time to achieve and they will be identified with a balloon and a customised t-shirt.

ARE THERE FREE FINISHER MEDAL?

Yes. Each runner who finished the TotalEnergies Medio Maratón de Málaga get a free finisher medal after cross the finish line.
